The Palmeiras fan will have to wait moments before the final against Santos, this Saturday, at 5:00 p.m., in Maracana, to know the starting eleven of the Copa Libertadores.

This Friday, coach Abel Ferreira gave a press conference in Maracanã and did not give details about the formation of Verdão. When asked about players like Felipe Melo and Rony, the Portuguese said he has both, without revealing whether from the start of the game or as options.

– As for Felipe Melo, I have been sincere with the communication that I have made with you since I arrived here. Felipe is a player with great experience, with an enormous vibration, someone who helps us on and off the field. Surely tomorrow you can help us. If it will be at the beginning or if it will enter, it is up to me to decide.

– He is a player who helps everyone and me, as a coach, because he is a collector of titles. Everything that depends on me and our players we will do so that he can add more – said Abel Ferreira.

Regarding the formation of the Palmeiras offensive system, the coach mentioned the participation of Willian and Rony and the importance of the couple for the team. The coach, however, valued collective aspects and did not reveal what his decision will be for the classic.

– I like to talk about the whole team. Because it depends on who passes the ball, the defender depends on him to help defend. Soccer is collective, not individual. Ron has been called up to play as a center forward or on the edge because he gives us vertical play, speed, he helps defend, just like Willian. They are two players with different characteristics, but with great performance.

– What to say? To say that he is a focused player, since I arrived I saw an open heart and mind to learn the new concept of collective play. We are very specific in what we ask of the players, the movements that we intend to conquer or free up spaces for other players. Ron is a player with a lot of energy, a lot of strength, a lot of determination, he has scored important and decisive goals. I count on your inspiration tomorrow too, at the beginning or entering – said the coach.

Ron has ten games played in the 2020 Libertadores, with five goals scored and seven assists. Recovered from surgery on his left ankle, Felipe Melo started the game against Vasco and is available to Abel Ferreira’s technical committee.

Palmeiras’ probable line-up for the Libertadores final is as follows: Weverton, Marcos Rocha, Luan, Gustavo Gómez and Matías Viña; Danilo, Zé Rafael, Gabriel Menino and Raphael Veiga; Ron (Willian) and Luiz Adriano.
