There are only six days until the municipal elections and the electoral justice system is reinforcing an important fact: be careful, because some voting places have changed to avoid crowds.
One of the largest democracies in the world is ready to elect mayors and councilors in more than 5,500 municipalities. The numbers are really huge; Brazil has nearly 150 million voters who can vote and they will find voting sessions with floor marking to maintain social distance and voting officials using security equipment. There will be no shortage of alcohol gel for the voter to use before voting and when leaving the booth.
The Electoral Justice has no doubts that the vote will be safe, but emphasizes that the participation of each voter is essential. One of the guidelines is this: It is very important to confirm or even reconfirm the polling place before leaving home to avoid unnecessary trips on Election Day.
Across the country, there are zones and polling stations that have moved due to the pandemic or because schools have been reformed.
The consultation of the polling place is very simple: it can be done on the website of the Superior Electoral Tribunal by name, title number or CPF of the voter. In all three cases, you must provide the date of birth and the mother’s name.

“All of our efforts will be compromised if people don’t do their part either. So that they are presented without any type of company that is not essential, of course, so that they can exercise their right to vote. But let them leave home knowing the polling place, pulling out their pen, the number of their candidates. Because, on our part, everything possible is done for the voting process, it will be very fast ”, says Cláudio Brandão de Oliveira, president of TER-RJ.
Even with the challenge of the pandemic, the number of voters who signed up to work in municipal elections has tripled, according to the TSE. Volunteers like Andréia, who has already lost count of how many elections participated: “The feeling of true citizenship. This is where we say what we believe, what we think. And we can come safely ”.
