The victim of the robbery, a 100 years old, it was one clandestine who left his family in So Paulo in 1967 to escape the military dictatorship. The story was revealed this Friday (1/5) by Tocantins newspaper.
The old woman, who currently responds with the name Maria Lidia, was found by the agent Maria Bethania Valado, from the 4th Specialized Police Station for Assistance to Women and Vulnerables. The police officer arrived at the scene after a complaint that drug users had attempted to rob the house on March 26.
TO Tocantins newspaperThe agent said she was impressed with the condition of the house and the fact that the old woman lived alone. “When I saw that lady, in complete abandonment, I was surprised. At that moment I told myself and God that I would not rest until I gave her a happy ending,” he said.
After several attempts to get closer, Bethania managed to get Maria Lidia to tell her story. According to the old woman, she fought against the military dictatorship, which was even arrested in 1967, and helped found the Brazilian Communist Party (PCdoB), although the report could not confirm the information with the acronym. After leaving So Paulo, he passed through Gois and Par, until he reached the place where he currently lives (which, at that time, was also part of the state of Gois).
Maria Lidia lived in the humble house in Colinas do Tocantins with her husband until January 2 of last year, when she passed away. Since then, she has lived alone, being harassed and extorted by drug users in the region, until she was found by police in March.
