During the launch of the Rosa October 2020 Campaign promoted today, the Minister of Health, Eduardo Pazuello, said that he only knew about the Unified Health System “at this moment in life.”

“I didn’t even know what SUS was. I spent my life being treated in a public institution of the army, I got to know SUS from this moment in my life and I understood the magnitude of this tool that Brazil offered us,” Pazuello said in an event held at the Ministry of Health this morning.

The minister emphasized praising the tool, which, according to him, gives the country the “ability to be a benchmark in the fight against many diseases in Brazil,” in addition to providing support to combat the covid-19 pandemic.

Pazuello also recalled how the Unified Health System guarantees comprehensive care for women seeking care and strengthened the alliance with state and municipal departments, other important points of this organization.

“The SUS guarantees this comprehensive care for cancer patients. There are specific deficiencies, but if you look at it as a whole, it really is a very well accomplished mission,” added the minister.
