Driver who killed motorcyclist in BH claims he did not see him because he had a glass eye

That day, he contradicted the traffic rules by converging to the left on the highway driving a Fiat Doblô, disregarding the bike’s preference and hitting the mark. After that, he ran away without providing help at high speed.

The information was transmitted by the delegate responsible for the case, Rodrigo Fagundes, at a press conference this Friday afternoon (13). He described what happened as a “tragic accident” and the driver’s position as “irresponsible” and “cowardly”.

The suspect was charged with homicide with aggravated evasion and will answer in court for the crime. At the time, the case had great repercussions due to a video recorded by a circuit of cameras on the site that showed the driver running over Gibim.

The agents, Fagundes said, located the driver of the car after an “arduous investigation” in images captured by camera circuits in the region where the crime occurred. He was questioned days after the accident and told investigators that he “did not see the accident.” However, his version was not accepted by the PCMG.

“It remained to prove that he was lying to the authorities. We managed to collect the itinerary (from the car after the accident). In these cameras that we located, we saw the man at high speed, anticipating irregularities, trying to evade criminal responsibility, ”said the delegate.

Fagundes explained, during the interview, that there is a possibility in the legislation for people without part of the vision – as is the case of the accused driver – to drive.

However, visual acuity must be kept at acceptable levels according to traffic code. Therefore, in addition to the accusations that will be processed in the judicial system, the suspect will have to undergo medical examinations again to be able to return to the wheel.
