A truck crashed this Saturday morning at the Ring Road overpass on Avenida Cristiano Machado, in the São Gabriel neighborhood, northeast of Belo Horizonte.
It is not yet clear whether the vehicle collapsed directly from the elevation onto the highway or spun off the shore next to the viaduct, which is near São Gabriel station.
The driver suffered only abrasions and refused medical attention. No other vehicle was hit.
Because of the accident, only one lane of Cristiano Machado was released in the place towards Centro. There is no provision to allow traffic on others. There is congestion for those who follow the section to the Central Region of BH and for those who leave in the direction of Rio de Janeiro from the Ring Road to the loop that leads to the avenue.
The accident caused a high voltage wiring to fall. Cemig activated and deactivated electricity in the region to solve the problem, which causes some traffic lights on the road to turn off.
