Investigations by the Joint Parliamentary Fake News Investigation Committee (CPMI) identified at least 33 IP addresses linked to three employees of State Representative Douglas García (PTB-SP) who were involved in an alleged ‘virtual lynching’ fake news scheme . Among them is Edson Pires Salomão (PRTB-SP), who resigned the head of García’s office to run for the position of councilor of São Paulo in the 2020 elections.
The information was presented by Deputy Alexandre Frota (PSDB-SP) in the testimony given before the Federal Police on the 29th of the investigation that investigates the financing and disclosure of anti-democratic acts. The details about the parliamentarian’s testimony were released by Folha de S.Paulo and Jornal Nacional and confirmed by Estadão, who also had access to the testimony.
The data related to Douglas García’s advisers was presented by Fleet as a result of information that would directly involve federal deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro (PSL-SP). In Eduardo’s case, investigators identified IPs of computers allegedly responsible for the ‘targeting, determination and disclosure’ of ‘fake news’ and virtual attacks in two addresses linked to the president’s son ’03’: one in Jardim Botânico, where he lives deputy. in Brasília; and another on Pasteur Avenue, in Rio, property that the president’s son declared to the Electoral Court.
In the case of Douglas García’s advisers, Frota indicated that the IPs identified by the Fake News CMPI point to at least four addresses: one in Rua Bandeira Paulista, in Itaim Bibi, Edson Salomão’s house; in Santos and Guarujá, on the coast of São Paulo, linked to Lilian Denise Goulart da Silveira; and one in Rua Otávio Gomes, Aclimação, owned by Eduardo Martins. With respect to the latter alone, the investigators would have identified 30 IP addresses and a telephone line.
In his testimony, Frota also highlighted that Douglas García’s three advisers are linked to the Conservative Brazil movement, which is coordinated by the state deputy in conjunction with Edson Pires Salomão, his former chief of staff. The latter is investigated in the investigation of fake news in the Supreme Court and was the subject of raids in May in the field of investigations. On that occasion, agents seized computers in García’s office in the São Paulo Legislative Assembly.
The federal deputy also pointed out that Eduardo Bolsonaro is an “apparent sympathizer” of the movement, having shared attacks against Bolsonaro’s former ally, Joice Hasselmann, which were created by the conservative Brazil. They alluded to the character of Peppa Pig, which ended up becoming the motto of the candidate campaign for the City of São Paulo.
CPMI’s findings are in line with the investigation opened by the São Paulo Public Ministry in June to investigate the alleged ‘hate office’ in the São Paulo State Legislative Assembly (Alesp). The investigation into the alleged practice of acts of administrative impropriety began after a representation in which the federal deputy Júnior Bozzella indicated that the then chief of staff of Douglas García recorded videos and made several publications within the deputy’s office with public resources and during business hours.
As Coladão do Estadão demonstrated in July, the violation of confidentiality in the investigation carried out by the Public Ministry also identified IP of Douglas García’s employees who would have been responsible for attacks on PSL parliamentarians who opposed the Bolsonaro clan, and even on the Court Supreme

“There is no scheme for virtual attacks, we do not have access to the CPMI documents and in my appendix of survey 4781, an expertise was made on my team and nothing was found that could harm me. I am sorry that you are giving Alexandre credibility Frota, who was convicted of fake news in the 2018 elections and recently denounced by the MP for ideological falsehood ”.
