– We saw that in the postoperative period Diego had episodes of confusion. Along with therapy doctors, we associate it with abstinence.

The gymnastics technician was admitted to a hospital in La Plata on Monday and, after a series of tests, doctors identified a subdural hematoma, which is a slight accumulation of blood in the meninges. The idol was transferred to another hospital in Buenos Aires, where he underwent surgery on Tuesday.

Maradona’s clinical situation

The person responsible for the procedure, Leopoldo Luque, has been a Maradona neurosurgeon and private doctor since 2016. The surgery is considered simple, but there was concern about the state of the former player, who turned 60 last Friday.

The Argentine arrived at the hospital with anemia and dehydration. He had been walking and eating a lot for the past few days. According to the doctors heard by the newspaper “Clarín”, the subdural hematoma is due to trauma, which may have occurred recently or several years ago.

In Maradona’s case, tests found that the problem was chronic and required surgical intervention. The 1986 world champion will remain under observation in the hospital.
