Mavic Air 2 is DJI’s new 8K camera drone and promises practicality even for beginners. The successor to the Mavic Air brings the same folding design proposal, in addition to having various flight, capture and safety features. Regarding autonomy, the brand claims that the device is capable of flying for approximately 34 minutes. The product begins to be sold in Brazil from next May 20, and the price is not yet defined. In the Chinese market, in turn, the quadcopter is already available and costs from US $ 799, approximately R $ 4,525 at the current price.

In technical terms, the new Mavic Air 2 surprises not only for the offer of 8K video, but also for the promise of recording with quality even at the highest resolutions. According to DJI, the drone is capable of shooting in 4K at 60 fps and with speeds of 120 Mb / s, something that indicates fluid video, but also with good image viewing. The momentum is evident in the 4K at 30 fps capacity of the first generation Mavic Air.
The new camera also allows 4x slow-motion captures, with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and samples at 120 fps, or 8x, with a speed reduction factor and speeds of 240 fps. Images are HDR-compliant for photos and videos, and clicks can be made on the standard 12-megapixel or 48-megapixel sensor, which explores more detail.

The camera also has Artificial Intelligence technologies, which allow recognizing scenarios such as sunrise and sunset, optimizing the levels of color and contrast. Another interesting feature is Hyperlight, which works as a kind of “dark mode”. Thanks to the function, the image processing of the drone improves the quality of the material generated in low light conditions.
There is also a control application that allows you to edit the photos in a simple way. Furthermore, the application offers tutorials to explore the quadcopter’s flight characteristics and brings its official documentation in digital format.
Simplified control and flight performance.
Weighing 570 grams, the new Mavic Air 2 has a new set of electronic motors and controllers that promise to improve its performance in the air. The main difference from the original model is the battery, which allows flights of up to 34 minutes, compared to 21 minutes for the Mavic Air. In terms of coverage, DJI says the drone can be controlled within a radius of up to 10 km, even keeping the HD and real-time display of what the camera is capturing.

Like other compact DJI models, the Mavic Air 2 has safety features that make it easy to pilot, making it easy to use even for beginners. With different sensors, the drone can detect and avoid obstacles, avoid accidents or even make a soft landing, even in dimly lit environments. There is also a geolocation system that prevents the quadcopter from entering prohibited airspaces, such as airports, for example.
In addition to security features, Mavic Air 2 offers preset maneuvers that make it easy to record videos and take aerial photos. Features already present in other models have also gained new releases, such as ActiveTrack 3.0, which tracks a target during recording, Spotlight 2.0, which keeps the drone stable with an object and Hyperlapse. Additionally, there are fast-motion recording options, such as the Boomerang, in which the device draws an arc in the sky while recording objects on the ground.
