The ordinance with the new rules was published yesterday in the Official Directory of Minas Gerais. According to the publication, the CNH and the Authorizations to Drive a Moped (ACC) expiring from January 1 to December 31, 2020 will be considered valid for inspection until the new corresponding date for the renewal defined in the schedule (…) . In some cases, the documents will end up gaining one more year of validity.
The chief delegate of the Flvia Fortes Teixeira Camargo Qualification Division explains that the user has until the last day of the month of the year following the expiration date, to update their documentation. “If it expired in January 2020, it must be renewed before January 31, 2021, and in the same way in the following months,” he explains. Whoever loses the date, the document loses its validity.

Regarding the authorization of transfer of ownership, the Detran establishes in the ordinance that new vehicles acquired from February 19 to November 30 of this year will have the registration and issuance of certificates until January 31 of next year. In the case of used vehicles purchased in the same period, the transfer must be made according to the following schedule:

Since July, the 2020 Certificate of Vehicle License and Registration (CRLV) was not required in the state. The change was established through a law that determined that the 2019 document would be considered to accredit the regularity of vehicles for the duration of the coronavirus pandemic. However, yesterday’s ordinance changed the rule. Starting in February, according to the final number of the identification plates, the CRLV 2020 will be charged and the one from last year will no longer be valid.
