SBT had good audience growth with the screening of Palmeiras and Bolívar, for the Copa Libertadores, but the news failed to beat Record, which presented a repeat of a telenovela and “A Fazenda”, or Globo, which took to the air Corinthians and Bahia.
Previous audience data shows that SBT ranked third in most urban centers measured by Ibope. In São Paulo, the largest market in the country, Silvio Santos’ station registered an average of 9.8 points during the broadcast, against Record’s 10.9 and Globo’s 23.4.
From the moment Record showed “A Fazenda”, the Libertadores and Brasileirão broadcasts lost audiences. Between 10:37 pm and 11:26 pm, SBT registered an average of 9.1 points, against 12.7 for Record and 21.2 for Globo.
SBT showed Palmeiras play in most of its boxes, and this option did not register good results in some cities. In Rio, for example, Globo scored 21.1 points, against Record’s 10.4 and Silvio Santos’ 4.4.
In Belo Horizonte, Globo scored 11.6 against 10.5 for Record and 5.9 for SBT. In Recife, Globo registered 15 points against 9.4 for Record and 5.1 for SBT.
The big exception was Porto Alegre. With a Grêmio match at LIbertadores, SBT came in first place, with an average of 19.7 points, well ahead of Globo, which scored 9.4 and Record, with 6.9.
