Missing girl found dead in Hortolândia

According to the Civil Police, the girl’s body showed signs of strangulation and her stepfather, who is in custody, confessed during a statement that he raped and killed the girl.

“She used to go to the bathroom, it took her a long time. ‘Maria, are you taking a shower, what’s going on?’ ‘Grandma, I’m a bummer.’ ‘What was my daughter?’ he told Ilza Viana Nascimento.

According to the chief delegate of Hortolândia, João Jorge Ferreira da Silva, the experts collected sperm from the girl’s body to carry out the DNA test and be able to establish the authorship of the crime.

OR CASE

According to the police report, the disappearance occurred yesterday. The woman implied that she returned home from work during lunch and did not find the girl. The man, who was at home, was in charge of taking care of the girl. When asked, the partner would have said that María Clara was playing at a neighbor’s house. The mother went to look for the girl and the neighbor said that María Clara was not there.

Yesterday, in addition to a police report, the family and neighbors began searching to find María Clara, including the publication of the girl’s photo on social networks (read more here). The mother also said that she and her partner gave testimony. At night, the man ended up going to the house of relatives in Monte Mor, as suspicions began that he was involved in the disappearance of the girl. His mother and neighbors continued their search throughout the night in the Vila Real neighborhood where he lived.

Earlier today the search was restarted and the girl was found dead, wrapped in a plastic bag and inside a cardboard box in a vacant lot near where she lived. One person saw and called the family. The mother found the girl and, desperate, even tried to take her to the UPA (Emergency Care Unit) in Jardim Nova Hortolândia, but María Clara was already dead.

According to the City Council, the girl arrived dead at the scene and the body was sent to the IML (Legal Medical Institute) of Americana.
