D’Alessandro’s 12 years at Inter have a set date to end: December 31, 2020. The Argentine announced on Monday that he will not renew his contract with the club.
T-shirt 10 communicated the decision with President Marcelo Medeiros. The history of more than a decade with goals, records and titles materialized in the emotion that drowned out the Argentine’s voice in a statement he read. (read the full text at the end of the text).
According to D’Ale, the decision is personal. And parting does not mean retirement. D’Alessandro will continue his career at another club.
My life at Inter ends on December 31st. The decision has been mature for a few months. Due to the sequence of the race, I could not go until the end. So I decided to anticipate the announcement. Inter will continue to be as great as it is. I will continue as an athlete, but I don’t know for how long.

D’Ale will stay until December 31 and should say goodbye to Inter as the second-most capped player in club history. Currently, it is third in the ranking, with 513 games, 10 less than Bibiano Pontes, second with 523.
D’Alessandro won the Sudamericana (2008), Libertadores (2010), Recopa (2011), six Gauchões (2009, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 and 2015) and two Recopas Gaúchas (2016 and 2017).
The Argentine landed in Beira-Rio in August 2008. He has been with the club ever since, with a brief one-season hiatus in 2016, when he defended River Plate on loan. And with a collection of titles to be proud of.
- Valdomiro – 803 games
- Bibiano Pontes – 523
- D’Alessandro – 513
- Dorinho – 460
- Luiz Carlos Winck – 453
- Claudiomiro – 420

With so much time in Beira-Rio, the gringo put down roots once and for all in Porto Alegre and Brazil. In September, D’Alessandro obtained dual citizenship. Now he is the Brazilian and also the Argentine with the most games in the history of the Libertadores. There are 90 games.
At Beira-Rio since 2008, D’Alessandro is the third most capped player in Inter’s history. There are 513 games, with 95 goals scored. In 2020, D’Ale played in 36 games, with three goals scored.
See D’Alessandro’s statement:
“The decision has been mature for a few months. As a result of my career, I could not leave it to the end. So I decided to anticipate the announcement. Inter will continue to be as great as they are, and D’Ale as an athlete. I will continue as athlete, but I do not know how long, I close my story.
I created a very important story here. The decision is exclusively personal. Don’t let this decision get to the political point. It has nothing to do with politics, group. I want to close my beautiful and victorious story here at the club. This is the truth.
Anyone who goes elsewhere is lying. I wanted to thank the fans. My Instagram post had nothing to do with it but the biography I’m going to post. Inter, Inter … it is very difficult to sum up 12 years, 13 titles, hundreds of victories and important moments in words.
I left River very young, I went to Europe. I went back to Argentina and then I had the opportunity to play in a big one in Brazil. For me, the greatest. I built a clean and beautiful relationship with moments of turbulence.
We have 40 days and we will dedicate everything to Inter. It’s not our best moment, everyone knows it, but it doesn’t hurt. Everyone has fluctuated and we have possibilities, yes. We know the dimension of the fourth game (against Boca). Here is the same group that has already done great things in the year. This is the statement I needed to say in order not to forget anything and not use the wrong information. “
