Cyberpunk 2077 can cause seizures in people with epilepsy, according to reports from a journalist who has the game and has the disease. The game, which will be released on December 10 on PlayStation 4 (PS4), Xbox One and PC, is already in the hands of some media for analysis. In an article published by Liana Ruppert, associate editor of the Game Informer website, she warns of the triggering risks for people with epilepsy. This Tuesday (8), producer CD Projekt Red said that it will add an additional warning to the title and provide a permanent solution as soon as possible.

According to Liana’s account, Cyberpunk 2077 has several moments with rapidly blinking lights, such as in clubs, bars or when Johnny Silverhand appears before the player. The journalist reports having had an attack specifically in a section of the game called “Braindance”, when the user explores the memories through a simulation.

When the screen is placed over the character, a sequence of red and white lights flash rapidly. According to Liana, the lights reproduce tests that neurologists use to provoke seizures for diagnostic purposes.

The reporter suggested some ideas for users with a history of epilepsy who want to play the game. There are options like dimming the screen, using color blind mode, and avoiding looking at the screen when using the Braindance screen.

Currently, most games already contain warnings about the risks of flashing lights and images. The effects in Cyberpunk 2077, however, seem to have caused more problems than usual.
