Measure is part of the purple wave of the Conscious Mines program and aims to contain the transmission of the coronavirus

From this Wednesday (March 17), Belo Horizonte adopts a curfew between 8:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. With the measure, the movement of people through the streets of the capital of Minas Gerais is prohibited during this interval, except in cases where people present justifications.

The measure is part of the purple wave of the government program of the Conscious Mines state, which Governor Romeu Zema (Novo) imposed on the entire state due to the critical situation of the hospital system, on the verge of collapse.

In addition to the curfew, the program provides for the prohibition of the non-essential trade operation, which had been in force for ten days in Belo Horizonte, since Mayor Alexandre Kalil determined new measures to try to contain the transmission of the coronavirus.

On the 13th, Kalil further restricted the operation of the city in order to reduce contagion. Face-to-face religious celebrations and the operation of building materials resellers were suspended. In addition, the bars and restaurants, which were prohibited from receiving customers, began to operate only for delivery and drive thru, being prohibited the withdrawal of products in the places.

The ban on family reunions is also part of the purple wave. That is, people must stay at home without any contact with other family members who do not live in the same place.
