The Cuiabá delegation went through a moment of horror this afternoon. The plane carrying the team’s players did not land in Mato Grosso and caused tension among those present. The flight had to go to Goiânia.

Due to the rains, the aircraft could not land in Cuiabá. The flight had departed from Guarulhos-SP and was bound for the Marechal Rondon airport, in Várzea Grande. Without a successful landing, the pilot ended up returning to the capital of Goiás.

Midfielder Jean Patrick shared a video of what happened on social media and reported moments of tension.

“Take me home, Lord. My family is waiting for me,” he posted. “I’ve never been so scared. ‘Tomorrow is God’s alone,” he added.

In contact with Twitter, the club’s vice president, Cristiano Dresch, said the incident was just “a scare.”

“The plane arrived in Cuiabá when it was raining hard, it was windy. The commander went to Goiânia and flew over the city for about 20 minutes. They had a scare when it took off. It was really a strong turbulence, but then, from Goiânia to Cuiabá, it was Esta good. It was just a scare, thank God, “he said.

Cuiabá returned from Campinas on a commercial flight after a 1-0 loss to the Guarani last night.

The team leads Serie B of the Brazilian Championship with 32 points after 16 games.
