Coach Cuca was delighted with Santos’ 3-2 victory against Olimpia in Paraguay. The result gave Peixe the classification in the round of 16 and the leadership of group G of the Copa Libertadores with a round ahead.
At a post-match press conference, Cuca appreciated the team’s position in the midst of a “turbulent week,” which included the departure of José Carlos Peres and the entry of Orlando Rollo to the club’s presidency.
– Winning at Olimpia is rare, it is difficult, few win. We arrived with problems with training and danced to the rhythm of the music. We fight, we play. Peixe’s next game is on Sunday, against Goiás, away from home, for the Brazilian Championship. For Libertadores, the already classified Santos returns to the field only on October 20, when he receives Defense and Justice in Vila Belmiro.
