Author of one of the goals in Santos’ victory over Goiás by the score of 3 to 2 last Sunday, 17-year-old forward Marcos Leonardo scored for the first time as a professional in the Goiânia game. Cuca, who gave the boy in the team a chance above Peixe, did not hide his joy with the goal scored in the victory.
“I think I’m happier than he was for scoring the first goal,” the Santos captain said at a post-match press conference. “Imagine the anxiety. You can travel back in time thinking about it.”
Chosen for the post-match press conference, Marcos Leonardo spoke about his relationship with the coach.
“Cuca for us players is a great dad. To thank him and all the committee that helped me since my arrival and thank you very much,” replied the young man about Cuca. Marcos also spoke about his rapid promotion to the main team. He played in the São Paulo Junior Soccer Cup for Santos earlier this year.
“I was always a dreamer. Since the São Paulo Cup, I had a goal which was to go up. Thank God I made a good Cup and then I returned to the professional. It was fast, now it is a sequence that will be fine,” he concluded.
