The population was seen without the use of mandatory protection and without respecting social distancing measures, as recommended by health agencies in the fight against the new coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.
The greater flexibility of the beaches has motivated tourists to go to the cities of Baixada. According to Ecovias, the concessionaire that manages the Anchieta-Imigrantes System, 186,530 vehicles have already passed through the system to the municipalities of Baixada Santista.

The Santos City Council had eliminated the time restriction for the use of the beach in July, as well as the permission to practice sports in the sea. The city of Praia Grande also registered agglomeration on the beach this Sunday. Hundreds of bathers filled the sandy strip of the municipality’s beaches, which allows the practice of individual sports, as well as beach tennis and artisanal fishing. Despite this, the use of a mask and a minimum distance of four meters is still necessary, which is not respected by bathers.

The city of Mongaguá also registered agglomeration near the fishing platform.
