Criminal police officer Alessandro Rosas Lopes was charged with intentional homicide for the death of Piccolo Gilcimar da Silva Honorato, 38, this Saturday morning (12), in the Esperança Complex. He is detained at the Rio Branco Police Station (Defla) and will be subjected to a custody hearing on Sunday (13).
According to the Civil Police, Lopes claimed self-defense when he was detained by the Military Police, but security camera images from a nearby house showed that he ran after the truck driver and shot the victim in the back.
Honorato was shot twice after an argument at the bar. He and the criminal police argued and fought physically during the confusion. The public servant alleged, when he was arrested, that the victim had chased him, put the gun in the car and shot him to defend himself.
After the shooting, Lopes left the place in his car, but the population wrote down the license plate and gave it to the PM-AC. Hours later they found him at his home and took him to the police station.
The picolezeiro was even rescued by an ambulance from the Mobile Emergency Service (Samu), taken to the emergency room, but died after suffering a cardiorespiratory arrest.

To Rede Amazônica Acre, the Defla delegate on duty who responded to the case, Adriano Araújo, said that the criminal police officer remained silent during the statement. However, he used the account that the official gave to PM-AC when he was arrested at his home.
“He alleged a possible legitimate defense, stating that the picolezeiro was in pursuit and, the moment he managed to put the weapon in the vehicle, he fired to stop an unjust attack. However, the images show otherwise, they show that the picolezeiro gave a stab that hit Alessandro in the shoulder and then he walks away and runs out of the room. In that opportunity, Alessandro goes to his car, takes the firearm, chases him and shoots Gilcimar from behind, who came to death “, said.
The delegate also added that the police seized the knife used by the policeman and the public servant’s revolver. “He is being fined for intentional homicide for the images captured from a neighboring house where the events occurred and the due diligence that we carry out at the IML, which prove that the two shots that he fired hit Gilcimar in the back,” he concluded.
The Acre Institute of Prison Administration (Iapen-AC) reported that it is also monitoring, together with the agency’s Internal Affairs, the case. The management also argued that it will take the appropriate administrative measures, but that, for the moment, the situation is in charge of the Civil Police and the Judiciary.
A note, signed by the president of the Association of Servants of the Prison System of Acre (Asspen), Eden Azevedo, affirms that the criminal police acted in legitimate defense, after being beaten by the victim with a dagger to the shoulder.
“It is important to point out that the criminal policeman only drew his weapon after being wounded by a knife blow, delivered by Mr. Gilcimar, towards his neck, wounding the shoulder of the public security agent,” he said.
The association also added that it is following the case and believes that the Civil Police will clarify the facts.
