Two crew members of the speedboat “O Maestro”, who disappeared near the São Tomé lighthouse, in Campo dos Goytacazes (RJ), were drowned at sea, the autopsy carried out at the IML (Legal Medical Institute) of Macaé reported. The cause of death is the same for the other two bodies rescued in the same region and which have not yet been identified. The group made an expedition from Rio de Janeiro to Fortaleza among friends and the trip would last between 15 and 20 days.

The two corpses that may belong to the ship’s crew are being subjected to a fingerprint hydration treatment so that forensics can compare them with the medical records sent by the SSPDS (Secretary of Public Security and Social Defense of Ceará).

The bodies were located on Thursday (4) and Saturday (6), in a joint operation between the Brazilian Navy and the FAB (Brazilian Air Force). A freezer and chair allegedly belonging to the launch were spotted during searches last week.

Ricardo José Kirst (businessman), Domingos Savio Ribeiro (businessman), Guilherme Ambrósio de Oliveira (commander), José Cláudio de Souza Vieira (machine master) and Wilson Martins dos Santos (fisherman) participated in the expedition.

The Macaé IML reported that Wilson’s body was removed by a funeral home hired by the family to undergo conservation treatment. The corpses will be transported tomorrow at 1:50 pm, departing by direct flight from Rio de Janeiro to Fortaleza. The fisherman’s body will be buried in the Guajiru beach cemetery, in Trairí (CE), 137 km from Fortaleza.

The body of Ricardo Kirst, although identified by forensics on Saturday, will only be removed from the IML in Macaé by the family today, after the other bodies are identified, so that they can be transferred together to Ceará.

The Navy continues to search the region.

Travel problems

The gaucho Ricardo José Kirst, who lived in Ceará, called four fishing friends to go on a speedboat expedition. He bought the vehicle in Rio de Janeiro and was going to take it by sea to Fortaleza. The goal was to record the trip to publish it on his YouTube channel, where he usually posts nautical trips and fisheries.

They even managed to make some searches, but the first day of the boat had a problem of air entering the hoses in Rio de Janeiro, where they had to anchor to carry out the repair.

Two days later they continued their journey, but in the early morning of the 30th they issued a call for help to the Navy and the sailors who were nearby, reporting problems on the ship and that they would have to abandon the boat.
