The transmission rate of the new coronavrus presented remains for the second consecutive day in Belo Horizonte. According to the bulletin published by the city council on Wednesday (18), the level went from 1.12 to 1.10. The week started with the number 1.13. Despite the reduction, the alert remains ‘yellow’.

Remember that the parameter goes to the yellow phase, the intermediate phase, starting at 1.

Regarding the number of cases, Belo Horizonte has already confirmed 51,802 patients with COVID-19, a difference of 308 positive diagnoses in relation to the previous survey. There were also 10 lives lost in the last 24 hours, going from 1,580 to 1,590. Another 96 deaths are under investigation.

Most of the deaths were from patients in the Northwest Region. 205 lives were lost to COVID-19. The northeast followed, with 195 deaths. The list is completed by the West (193), Venda Nova (187), East (174), Barreiro (172), North (157), Central-South (156) and Pampulha (151) regions.

As in this period, beds showed an increase in demand in relation to the previous balance. In intensive care, it went from 33.5% to 33.7%. In the neighborhoods, the index went from 30.7% to 33.1%. The two parameters remain in a controlled phase, below 50%, therefore. The municipality considers the SUS and the complementary network in the index.
