Espírito Santo beat the record for new Covid-19 cases in 24 hours for the second consecutive day. This Wednesday (09) 2,419 new cases were registered, the highest since the start of the pandemic. On Tuesday (8) there was one less case, totaling 2,418 new registrations. These numbers exceed even the most critical days experienced during the peak of illness in the middle of the year.

This December, in fact, draws attention to the fact that the nine days presented more than 1,300 daily cases of Covid-19, and when the numbers of these first days of the month are added, we have a total of 206 deaths and 16,983 new . cases.

With 206,984 confirmed cases in Espírito Santo during the new coronavirus pandemic, the municipality of Vila Velha, with 29,779 records, maintains the highest number of infected residents in the state. They are followed by Serra (26,372), Vitória (25,341) and Cariacica (18,306). Among the neighborhoods, Jardim Camburi, in the Capital, does not leave the first place in the ranking either, with 3,751 infected people, followed by Praia da Costa, in Vila Velha, with 3,389.

The number of cured patients also increased, reaching 189,092. The fatality rate of Covid-19 remains at 2.2% and more than 677,817 thousand tests have already been carried out in the State.

The number of deaths is high, but relatively stable over the days, with a variation between 12 and 34 deaths every 24 hours in December.
