The daily increase in new coronavirus in Brazil continues the growth trend seen earlier this week. After breaking the records of the daily increase in deaths and cases yesterday, Brazil confirmed this Thursday (7/5), 610 new deaths and 9,888 cases of the disease. With that, the pas adds 9146 deaths from Covid-19 and 135,106 infected. The information was disclosed in the daily balance of the Ministry of Health.

Yesterday, the country confirmed 615 deaths and 10,503 cases of Covid-19. Therefore, it is possible to notice a trend in the daily increase registered by the portfolio.

Then, Paulo leads the ranking of cases and deaths. There are 3,206 deaths and 39,928 confirmations. With the advancement of the disease, the state government estimates that six out of ten cities in São Paulo already have the circulation of the new coronavirus. The worst scenario remains in the capital, which has an occupation of 89.6% of the ICU beds.

To try to contain growth, the mayor of So Paulo, Bruno Covas, decided to expand the vehicle’s rotation, increasing the circulation restriction from 20 to 50%. “This measure is necessary so that we can continue to restrict the movement of people in the city of So Paulo and take advantage of the fact that we have had an improvement in air quality in recent days,” Covas explained.

According to the mayor, since February, the restriction actions have been responsible for saving more than 30 thousand people. “We have a sad index, but it is possible to remember that actions have saved our lives.”

In addition to SP, eleven other states also have more than 100 deaths each. They are: Rio de Janeiro (1,394), Cear (903), Pernambuco (845) and Amazonas (806), Par (410), Maranho (305), Bahía (165), Esprito Santo (155), Minas Gerais (106 ), Paran (104) and Paraba (101).

The Southeast continues to lead the ranking of confirmations, with 44.9% of cases. Then comes the Northeast (31.2%), the North with (15.8%), the South (5.1%) and the Midwest (3%).

Teich speaks to the deputies

This Thursday (7/5), there was no technical conference to comment on the data presented today. However, previously, the Minister of Health, Nelson Teich, was present at a meeting at the External Commission for Preventive Actions against Coronavirus in the Chamber of Deputies. On that occasion, he spoke about the actions taken by the ministry and mentioned again the closure of cities and the issue of social isolation.

“Today’s general guide is to analyze each region based on variables. We will present the design suggested by the ministry, remembering that this is the decision of the states and municipalities. The Federal Government and the Ministry of Health will be together to discuss, support, suggest, but this is a local decision, a decision of the states and municipalities, “he said previously.

The minister also emphasized that the actions taken could change. “The actions cannot last more than 5 days, and planning for the expected future situations is necessary. Before analyzing the linear measures, they will now address the intensity and weaknesses, mainly of the most vulnerable populations and the heterogeneity of the country. Even when found in different parts of society may have different evolutions, “he noted

Teich said he will travel to Rio de Janeiro, the second state with the most deaths and cases of the new coronavirus, this Friday. The minister also said that this routine of visits to the places most affected by the disease would be added to the agenda. “We will do one or two (capitals) a week,” he said.
