Earlier this week, Tom Brady was kicked out of a park in Tampa, Florida, by a local employee while doing physical activity. The reason for the expulsion is that all the parks in the region are prohibited from being visited while the city adopts stricter social isolation measures due to the coronavirus pandemic. This Saturday, Tampa Mayor Jane Castor wrote a humorous public letter to Brady apologizing for the episode.

New to Tampa, the quarterback signed with the Buccaneers after 20 seasons with the New England Patriots. The Super Bowl 2021, which defines the NFL champion, will take place exactly in Tampa, at the Buccaneers’ stadium.

– Tom, my apologies for the lack of communication when you arrived. Not the best first impression. But, given my experience in law enforcement, I couldn’t stop anyone from investigating the presence of a GOAT (one of the best) in one of our beautiful city parks. We never wanted to hurt you and thank you for being a good athlete – said the mayor in one of the excerpts from the letter.

This was the second formal apology received by Tom Brady since the incident. Also Monday, the Tampa city government apologized to the star on Twitter.

– Sorry, Tom Brady! Our Tampa Parks and Recreation can’t wait to welcome you along with our entire community with a wide smile. Until then, stay safe, stay home as long as you can to help us flatten the curve, the profile wrote.
