Brazil registered 366 new deaths from the new coronavirus in 24 hours, according to data published today by the Ministry of Health. The country now has 120,828 deaths.
According to the Federal Government, 16,158 new cases of covid-19 were registered, totaling 3,862,311 contaminated.
Also according to the folder, 3,031,559 people recovered from the disease in Brazil, while another 709,924 are under follow-up.
São Paulo approaches 30 thousand dead
The state of São Paulo is approaching the mark of 30,000 deaths from the new coronavirus, according to data released by the State Department of Health. The government bulletin confirmed today that all the cities of the state registered cases of covid-19.
In total, the state has 29,978 reported deaths, an increase of 34 deaths compared to the last bulletin. Historically, on Sundays, the data has declined in national reports.
The number of confirmed cases of the disease in the state amounted to 803,404 and 53.4% of ICU beds (intensive care units) focused on covid-19 are occupied.
New stage of testing for coronavirus in Rio
Tomorrow the fourth stage of rapid tests for covid-19 will begin in communities of Rio de Janeiro. The Municipal Secretariat of Health (SMS) will take the action to Mangueira, Complexo do Borel, Jacaré, Jacarezinho, Santo Cristo and Gamboa, where 3,200 residents will be tested during the week. The work continues until Friday (4).
The methodology is based on the random choice of areas and residents of the community. The draw for the micro-areas to be covered is carried out by the Primary Care teams. The areas are already mapped by the Family Health Strategy.
During the action, the agents go from house to house and offer the test. Only one family member is chosen in each household. In this case, the choice is made with the participation of residents. The rapid test is applied at home with the collection of a drop of blood. The result, according to SMS, is on time.
