The State Health Secretariat published on Saturday night (11) the updated case report of the new coronavirus in Espírito Santo. In total, there are 383 people with confirmation of the disease. A striking fact is the number of critically ill patients. Of the 65 people who required hospitalization, 43 are in Intensive Care Units (ICU). That is, 66% of the total hospitalized.

In these conditions, the patient requires greater care and assistance from the equipment, such as the respirator. Covid-19 can lead to Acute Respiratory Syndrome, a condition considered more severe and more lethal.

According to the Undersecretary of Health Surveillance, Luiz Carlos Reblin, the 43 patients are divided into ICUs of the public and private network: – 22 are in SUS beds, 17 in private hospitals and four in philanthropic hospitals (with medical insurance).

In addition to them, 22 other people are in nursing beds. Of the remaining confirmed cases for Covid-19, 41 patients are already cured and 268 are in residential isolation. Nine deaths have been confirmed and eight are still under investigation.
