Eight of the 20 teams that make up Series A of the Brazilian Championship in 2020 have already started training again after the stoppage due to the new coronavirus pandemic. The number is equivalent to 40% of the tournament. However, only the Grêmio and Internacional duo already have a date to start face-to-face work.
The other six clubs are Flamengo, Fluminense, Botafogo, Red Bull Bragantino, Bahía and Coritiba. Everyone is still isolated, but the athletes will be connected, following the schedules and determinations of the clubs, what Fluminense, for example, called virtual training. The exception is Flamengo, which has not yet specified a return to activities, but has already been testing employees and athletes for the covid-19.
The Grêmio will be rescheduled on Monday in a phased manner, starting with the employees and then the players. Inter scheduled the athletes’ re-presentation for Tuesday, while the coaching staff returned on Monday.
Of the remaining 12 clubs, only two were officially positioned: Santos and Palmeiras. São Paulo’s rivals maintained their social isolation and declared that they only return to training when authorized by the authorities. Verdão is already moving to buy evidence of the covid-19.
Although he did not release an official statement, Raí, São Paulo’s executive director, said in a recent interview that the club is against anticipating the return of football and spoke about the importance of following the guidelines of the health authorities.
Vasco, Corinthians, Atlético-MG, Atlético-GO, Goiás, Fortaleza, Ceará and Sport did not take a position after the end of the holiday decreed after the closure of football due to the pandemic.

In Minas Gerais, the government is divided and concerned about the financial issue of the clubs, but the Health Department does not recommend the return of football. The Minas Gerais Football Federation (FMF) is creating a committee of doctors to discuss the case with the authorities.
The situation, however, is different in Rio de Grande do Sul. The city of Porto Alegre issued a decree that allows physical activities outdoors without crowds. The Grenal duo uses this as a base to return to work.
