Rodrigo Santana arrived in Coritiba to replace Jorginho. Before closing with him, however, the alviverde board studied or looked for names such as Tiago Nunes, Roger Machado, Ney Franco, Vanderlei Luxemburg, Lisca and Mozart. Coxa was the runner-up with 16 points.
Before Jorginho and Rodrigo Santana, Coritiba was directed by Eduardo Barroca. The club, therefore, will have the fourth different coach in 2020 – not counting the participation of Mozart and Pachequinho himself, acting, in one match each.
Rodrigo Santana leaves Coritiba with two draws (with Internacional and Bragantino) and four defeats (with Bahía, Flamengo, Corinthians and Sport). This represents only 11% of utilization. Therefore, he took Coxa in position 19 and delivered the club in 18.
Assistant Pachequinho takes over the team on an interim basis; Coritiba’s next challenge will be against Botafogo, in Couto Pereira.
The match between Paraná and Rio de Janeiro, valid for the 26th day of Brasileirão, is scheduled for Saturday, at 9pm, in Couto. For this match, Coxa has William Matheus, Matheus Sales and Matheus Galdezani, who return after suspension.
