The game

First time

As expected, Corinthians looked to play in the attack field in the first minutes. However, Goiás mounted a quick counterattack after three minutes and opened the scoring in Itaquera.

After regaining possession, the visiting team went on the attack and Fernandão opened for Douglas Baggio, who crossed into the penalty area and saw Fernandão himself appear free and sent to the back of the net, with no chance for Cássio.

Timão, however, was not intimidated and kept proposing a game. At nine minutes, Cazares received a good pass from Fagner inside the area and finished. The tie came on the next move.

At 13, Otero was pressured in the middle of the field and dropped the ball on Cazares, who gave a beautiful pass to Gustavo Mosquito. The forward appeared free at the bottom of the mark, invaded the area and did not waste the good opportunity.

Soon after, Otero took possession, stepped forward, and dropped a bomb on the crossbar. At 25, Ramiro yielded twice from outside the area and saw the ball pass near the opponent’s goal.

Cazares tried a pass inside the area, but was intercepted. In the rest, he sent the cover and saw the ball pass very close to the Goiás crossbar, little happened after this play and the teams went to the dressing room with a 1-1 draw on the scoreboard.

Second time

Satisfied with what he saw in the first half, Vagner Mancini made no changes during the break and Corinthians returned to the final stage with the same formation that started the match.

Timão’s rhythm followed the same and after five minutes it was his turn. Goiás’s defense intervened and Cazares regained possession. At the entrance of the penalty area, the 10 shirt played for Jô, who first slapped the ball, took Tadeu out of the game and scored the second black goal at the Neo Química Arena.

At 17, Gabriel received after a rebound in the area, managed to head, but sent the crossbar. In the sequence, the midfielder tried a new shot, but was intercepted, as was the Venezuelan Otero.

Mancini moved his team for the first time on the next move. Forward Gabriel Pereira replaced Gustavo Mosquito, who scored Corinthians’ first goal in the match. A short time later, Xavier and Léo Natel joined Ramiro and Otero, respectively.

A tense climate seized Neo Chemical Arena in 35 minutes. Cássio ran into Vinícius in the small area and stayed on the ground. The Corinthians goalkeeper could not get up and went straight to the ambulance. With that, Walter took his place.

In the sequence, Luan filled the vacancy of Cazares in the alvinegro’s midfield.

As the match had to stop for a while to attend jersey number 12, Mancini’s team made some mistakes when the ball rolled again and saw Goiás in danger for Walter’s goal.

Luan and Jô still had clear chances to extend the lead, but the ball did not enter. Thus, the match ended with Corinthians winning 2-1.
