The 1-0 victory over Internacional on Saturday night, at Neo Química Arena, made Corinthians breathe in the Brazilian Championship. Vagner Mancini’s team gained positions and moved away from the competition relegation zone – see the table below.
With 24 points in 19 games played, Timão climbed four positions and reached ninth place in the Brasileirão. So far, there are five points of difference for the dreaded Z4: there have been six wins, six draws and seven losses, with 22 goals scored and 26 conceded.
However, the Alvinegro team can still lose two places until the end of the round. In 13th position, with 21 points, Sport enters the field this Sunday to face Atlético-PR, in Ilha do Retiro. Grêmio, tenth with the same 24 points as Corinthians, receives Red Bull Bragantino on Monday night in Porto Alegre.
Vagner Mancini’s team returns to the pitch for Brasileirão next Saturday, at 9:00 p.m., against Atlético-GO, in Goiânia – before, Corinthians will face America-MG, away from home, for the Copa do Brasil, Wednesday -market.
