Corinthians informed the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF), the São Paulo Football Federation (FPF) and Rede Globo on Monday that it will no longer play at night or on Sundays. In a statement, President Andrés Sánchez threatened not to send the team to the field if their matches are scheduled for those dates.

The decision was motivated after demands from two players against clubs. One was former defender Paulo André moved against Corinthians himself. The other, behind the wheel, Maicon against São Paulo. Both demanded the payment of additional remuneration for having worked at night, on Sundays and holidays.

Paulo André earned R $ 1.2 million and made an agreement to receive R $ 750 thousand in installments. Recently, the former player explained on Facebook the action he took against the club and how the deal was made.

“I asked Andrés to pay me the amounts that he and Corinthians really thought they owed me. He looked at me in surprise. He called his lawyer, collected the documents of the time, made the calculations and called me a few days later to close the deal. I hope this chapter marks once and for all the end of this controversy, “he concluded.

Maicon, now in Grêmio, earned in the first instance the amount of R $ 200 thousand. The process is still open and the amounts can reach up to R $ 700 thousand due to interest and corrections. Criticized by fans on Instagram, the player asked for “less mimimi.” “If we help, we do nothing but the obligation, if we collect our rights we are mercenaries,” he wrote.
