Corinthians has 13 players at the end of the contract, four from the main team

With the coronavirus pandemic affecting the entire Brazilian soccer calendar, the Corinthians may have a serious problem this season related to the renewal (or not) of contracts with 13 players, four of them currently in the main team of Tiago Nunes. One of the main points would be the financial part, since some athletes have a high estimated value in the market.

In the attack, the situation is “divided”: while with Mauro Boselli the situation seems to be on track, with Vágner Love the story still does not give any indication of what end it will have. The Argentine has a contract until December 30, with an estimated value by Transfermarkt of 1.5 million euros (R $ 8.58 million, at the current price) in the market, while the 9 shirt has one more day of surety and for a value of 1 million euros (R $ 5.72 million).

Léo Santos, in turn, has a listed value of 5.4 million euros (R $ 30.8 million) according to the website, and a bond until September 12. This means that if a renewal is not agreed by that date, the athlete can leave without any financial compensation for the club on the east side of São Paulo. You can even sign a pre-contract with any team, inside or outside of Brazil.

The 21-year-old defender underwent two surgeries, the first on his right knee in April last year when he was on loan to Fluminense, and the second in the same location, but in September when he had already returned to Corinthians. Both operations ended up taking the player off the field for longer than expected. Another athlete from the team led by Tiago Nunes with the contract near the end is the Sidcley side. The bond runs until December 31, 2020 and has a value of 3.2 million euros (R $ 18 million). He, who returned after playing for Dynamo Kyiv, did not please much of the crowd, due to his physical form, which ended up compromising the team at times.

In addition to these four names, alvinegro also has nine other players with contracts to terminate, but they don’t work for the team and, yes, they are on loan. Guilherme Romão, who currently defends the colors of Botafogo-SP, is one of them and only has an agreement until the 18th of this month, that is, this Saturday; its value appears at 325 thousand euros (R $ 1.8 million).

Outside the country, Lucca has a link until the end of July with Al-Khor, from Qatar, and is worth 800,000 euros (around R $ 4.5 million). In addition to the two, there are eight more cases, but with contracts until December of this year: Caíque França (West), Carlinhos (Marcílio Dias), Jean (Vitória), Luidy (CRB), Mantuan (West), Marciel (Juventude) and Renê Júnior (Coritiba). The value of these players, in total, is 2,375 million euros (around R $ 13.5 million).

Corinthians has not played since March 15, when it tied Ituano 1: 1. Since then, the club has followed recommendations to contain the coronavirus pandemic, which affects everyone.
