With the great 1-0 victory over São Paulo at Neo Química Arena, Corinthians gained two positions and consolidated at the top of the Brazilian Championship standings after the end of matchday 25.
So far, Timão has 33 points and ranks ninth (eight wins, nine draws and eight losses). There are eight points of difference for the relegation zone and eight for the G6, a group that guarantees an indirect place in the Copa Libertadores. – see the table below.
Rival of Vagner Mancini’s team, São Paulo remained in the lead, with 50 points, but saw the lead diminish for other G4 teams. It should be remembered that Timão has not lost in four rounds.
Now, Corinthians will only return to the field next Monday night, at 8:00 p.m., against Goiás, at Neo Química Arena, in Itaquera, for the 26th day of the Brasileirão. The Goiás club is the penultimate classified, with 20 points.
