Corinthians I don’t have, again, some of your players available due to Covid-19. There are three cases in the squad before the game against Grêmio.

The duel takes place this Sunday, at 8:30 p.m., in Neo Química Arena, for the 22nd day of the Brazilian Championship, without Mateus Vital and Jô, who were already in quarantine, and Jemerson, eliminated last Friday after a positive result . Everyone, so far, is asymptomatic.

Even with the relaxation of some rules, such as allowing players to go to and from their homes to train, Corinthians continues to follow strict security protocol at CT Joaquim Grava. The club was one of the first to suffer from the outbreak that now affects other teams.

In the players’ restaurant, for example, the reduced capacity standard is still adhered to, with tables spaced, spaced and a la carte only.

Every week, all CT employees are screened, including those who do not have direct contact with the group of players. Last Monday 100 tests were carried out. On Thursday, a new battery of tests with three positive results (two employees and Jemerson).

In charge of coordinating the security measures and the entire Covid-19 protocol in Corinthians since the return of football, the doctor Ivan Grava said that he is satisfied with the control carried out at the club.

– The protocol was maintained and with very little flexibility. In some cases, we don’t even wait for the test results to be released. The family of the employees has also been monitored. There is rigidity in complying with this protocol. Some see me and already say “here comes the boredom” (laughs). It has to be that way. We had a lot of cases back there, but there was an exchange of players and, therefore, other cases happened. We are far from going back to what it was before – said the doctor.

Absent since November 13, Jô and Mateus Vital have the opportunity to return to training from next week, depending on the evolution of the clinical condition and the results of the exams.
