On Sunday night, Corinthians began deciding who will advance to the final of the Brasileirão Femenino against rival Palmeiras. In a very balanced game at Allianz Parque, the teams ended in a 0-0 draw.
With the result, everything will be resolved in the second leg, scheduled for Monday 16, at Neo Química Arena. A victory by any marker puts the Alvinegro team in the decision of the national tournament, a title that was missing last season, lost on penalties to Ferroviária.
This, it should be noted, was the first match that Arthur Elias’ team did not win after the return of post-pandemic football: there were 17 consecutive victories until the draw in Dérbi.
Schedule: Before facing the rival to decide who will advance to the final of the Brasileirão, Corinthians turns the key to Paulistão and, this Wednesday, they face Taubaté in Fazendinha, at 3pm.
Line up
With no absences, Arthur Elias sent the best to the decisive Derby. With that, Corinthians went up with Lelê; Kaituscia, Poliana, Érika and Yasmin; Gabi Zanotti, Andressinha, Vic Albuquerque, Giovanna Crivelari and Tamires; Adriana.
The game
First time
Corinthians launched the attack from the first minutes, even at the rival’s home. In three minutes, the Alvinegra team tried two shots from outside the area, which ended up not being in much danger.
After threatening the initial pressure, Timão saw Palmeiras improve and balance things, keeping the ball highly contested in the midfield sector. With difficulty, Corinthians only managed to reach 20 minutes, with a header over Gabi Zanotti.
At 25, Andressinha took a corner kick and almost surprised goalkeeper Vivi, who spread the ball and watched the defense move away from danger. Soon after, Vic Albuquerque hit the ball weakly for a new goalkeeper defense.
Dominant, Corinthians raised the line and began forcing rivals’ mistakes. With the ball, however, Alvinegra’s team also sinned a lot in the last pass. At 35, however, he took advantage of the slippage of the rival defense to reach Vic Albuquerque, in a dangerous cross shot.
Second time
As in the first stage, Corinthians came back from rest and immediately created an opportunity for danger. Within four minutes, Vic Albuquerque appeared back to head and demanded a good defense from Vivi.
Timão continued up and came back on the left side. Vic received at the entrance of the area and hit him hard. The Alvinegras intensified the pressure and began to annoy the rival defense, causing more and more errors.
At 11 o’clock, Tamires put a splattered ball on the ground and hit the plate. The ball ended up going too high and passing over the goal defended by Vivi. Without opening the scoring, Arthur Elias moved for the first time: Juliete and Gabi Portilho entered the vacancies of Vic Albuquerque and Adriana.
After the exchanges, Palmeiras arrived. In a corner, Agustina headed well, but Lelê flew to make it look nice and avoid the goal of the hosts.
Timão went even further on the attack and crossed twice with danger in the area. Vivi, however, did well in both. Then Corinthians risked a shot from outside the area, but the ball passed the goal.
At 35 minutes, Corinthians almost opened the scoring. In confusion, Tamires appeared free in the middle and struck, but ended up caught at the last moment.
At 42, Timão finally reached his goal, but Juliete was prevented when he completed the good play of Gabi Nunes and Ingryd.
