– Renato has an extraordinary job at Grêmio and it is no coincidence. Four, five years, with Copa, Libertadores, Recopa. It is the result of continuity, of believing in what you do, but knowing that the path is being done well. Congratulations on the work that has been done in Grêmio – praised Abel.
– Palmeiras have great players, not in vain they are in two finals (Copa do Brasil and Libertadores). Abel has been doing a wonderful job, quickly. I even congratulated him, it is important that a foreign coach arrives and succeeds. He knows Grêmio’s team well, as Grêmio knows Palmeiras well – Renato returned.

For the Portuguese coach, the fact of playing the second game at home does not give Palmeiras such an advantage, since there is no crowd in the stadiums due to the pandemic. Renato stated that he preferred to decide the title in Porto Alegre. But regardless of the bosses, they both projected balance in both games.
– Grêmio has arrived, but we will not win all the titles, as well as Palmeiras. It is not possible all the time. Not only does Grêmio want to win, the opponent wants it too. Grêmio will compete with another great club, either team can win. We have to respect the opponents – said Renato.
– It is true that we are in all three competitions, fortunately. It’s tough, it requires a huge ability to overcome, but I’d rather be there fighting than watching on the couch. That is what we work for, we are coaches, players. But as Renato said, all teams want the same thing, but only one wins. It is impossible to always win in football. The important thing is to know what we have to do – added Abel.

The two teams will make a preliminary decision this Friday, at 9:30 p.m., at Allianz Parque, in a match for the 30th round of the Brasileirão. The dates of the Copa do Brasil finals are not yet confirmed. It will depend on whether Palmeiras wins the Libertadores or not, in a decision against Santos.
If Palmeiras wins the Libertadores and consequently wins the right to seek the Club World Cup title, the matches will be on February 28 and March 7. If São Paulo is defeated by Peixe, the matches will be on February 11 and 17.
