In recent weeks, official daily death records have steadily increased. Of the 115 deaths confirmed on April 10, we went to 217 deaths in one day on April 17. A week later, 357 were confirmed in one day. Another week and the record was already 428 deaths in 24 hours.
And on Friday (8), we reached the record of 751 deaths in 24 hours. Between Friday and Saturday (9), the government registered 730 more victims of Covid-19.
During this period, the coronavirus spread through the metropolitan region of the capitals and the interior of the states. Today, the virus is already present in 2,677 municipalities, where 86% of the Brazilian population lives. Four out of ten cases of the disease are residents of the interior. In 14 states there are already more deaths in these cities than in the capitals.
