OR INSS (National Institute of Social Security) confirmed that it will initiate the automatic review process to pay the differences owed to the insured to whom their sickness benefit was paid until October 31.
The authorization for the payment of arrears was published in the Official Gazette of the Federation. Of 1.1 million prepayments, more than 600 thousand beneficiaries are part of this new batch of automatic review.
According to the INSS, the disclosure of the number of insured is still waiting for the reviews to be processed. The difference is only valid for beneficiaries whose average salary would guarantee aid above the minimum wage, but received quotas equal to the floor.
Due to the new coronavirus pandemic, the medical expertise necessary to verify the right to temporary disability benefit was discontinued.
Among the various measures adopted by the government to mitigate the effects of the pandemic in the country, there was an advance of R $ 1,045 for aid whose concessions were given through the analysis of medical reports sent virtually.
How to know if you will receive the difference
The INSS will send a letter to the insured who can receive the difference. The letter will contain information on the recalculation, as well as the total amount owed.
The beneficiary can also check if they are entitled to payment through Meu INSS (website and application) and by phone 135.
Payment will be made into a checking account, for insured persons who receive this type of payment, directly at the bank teller or with a magnetic card.
14th salary
The proposal, presented by the Human Rights and Participatory Legislation Commission (CDH), received the favorable vote of Paim, rapporteur of the project in the Commission. According to the senator, approximately 35 million retirees and pensioners of the INSS, and that around 80% of this group receives only one minimum wage per month.
“The pandemic is causing enormous damage to the economy and the lives of the underprivileged,” Paim said.
“Salary number 14, in addition to helping retirees, those in the risk group, will also serve as an injection of resources into the economy. Among Brazilian municipalities, 64% depend on the income of INSS beneficiaries. The 14th salary will represent around R $ 42 billion in new money in local commerce, in the municipalities, generating employment and income, generating taxes, improving the quality of life, moving the local economy and strengthening the lives of all. We will have more jobs to collaborate with the resumption of the growth of the country ”, confirmed the senator.
The proposal originated through Legislative Idea N ° 127,741. The author of the initiative is the lawyer Sandro Gonçalves, from São Paulo. The project suggests the implementation of the 14th salary as an emergency Christmas bonus to be paid in December of this year.
The proposal, which has already reached more than 60,000 signatures, was sent to the Senate’s HRC committee, which is due to be considered by senators this week.
If it is approved and transformed into a Bill or PEC, the proposal is put to a vote in plenary. If the senators approve it, the bill will be sent to the Chamber of Deputies to also be considered by the deputies by simple majority.
