The federal government established new rules for the payment of the thirteenth salary of retirees and pensioners of the National Institute of Social Security (INSS). According to a decree published in the Official Gazette of the Federation, the benefits will be anticipated in 2021 in two installments.

The first will be deposited in the August sheet and the second in November. In 2020, the plots had also been advanced by the economic impact caused by the coronavirus pandemic. Through this new decree, the objective is to extend the option to other years, without the need for the government to announce the progress.

People who receive:

  • Retirement;
  • temporary disability assistance (old sickness benefit);
  • pension for death;
  • maternity pay;
  • accident assistance; Y
  • prison help.

How will the payment work?

In the case of the first installment, which will be paid in August, the amount will correspond to up to 50% of the benefit that the insured already receives. As for the second installment, payments will be made in November. The amount paid will be the total amount of the annual allowance minus the first installment.

Advance payment dates are expected to be released in late 2020. However, transfers generally take place in the last five business days of the month and continue through the first five of the next.

The deposit order (who gets first or last) is decided based on the amount and the final benefit number.

14th emergency salary

The anticipation of 13 of the INSS policyholders already happened in 2020. The government paid the first installment between April 24 and May 8, and the second between May 25 and June 5. Now, also due to the pandemic, the Senate is analyzing a bill that proposes to create a 14th emergency salary.

Bill (PL) 3,657 / 2020 is the report of Senator Paulo Paim (PT-RS) who requested urgent approval. He argued in the text of the proposal that around 80% of the 35 million retirees and pensioners of the INSS receive only one minimum wage per month and need additional assistance to support themselves.

“The pandemic is causing enormous damage to the economy and the lives of the underprivileged … Salary number 14, in addition to helping retirees and those at risk, will also serve as an injection of resources into the economy. “said Paim.
