A civilian police officer was shot dead at point-blank range by a colleague from the corporation after both were involved in a car accident on the João Baptista Cabral Rennó highway, in Santa Cruz do Rio Pardo, in the interior of São Paulo, this morning. .
According to the Civil Police, the civil policemen Renato Bianchi and Ronaldo Cordeiro were traveling in a car without characteristics from the city of Presidente Prudente to the capital. At km 305 of the highway, however, his car collided with a car.
Preliminary information from the police showed that Bianchi, who was driving the car, had more serious injuries and Cordeiro, who was still in the passenger seat, had minor injuries. A medical team from Cart (Concesionaria Auto Raposo Tavares) arrived at the scene.
When the agents were already in the ambulance, the two began to argue. During the fight, Cordeiro drew his gun and shot Bianchi. Cordeiro pointed the gun at his head, but a medic prevented him from firing.
The two were taken to the Santa Casa de Santa Cruz do Rio Pardo. There, Bianchi could not resist the injury. Cordeiro was arrested on the spot and must face the crime of homicide.
By note, the SSP (Ministry of Public Security) said that the agent who shot the colleague was arrested. “The case is being investigated by the Internal Affairs Department of the Bauru Civil Police,” the file read.
The SSP also affirmed that the Civil Police offers a support and monitoring program to its personnel.
