A Civil Defense of Belo Horizonte made an alert to the population of the capital of Minas Gerais on the night of this Saturday (2/1). That’s because lightning and heavy rain can continue in the city for the next few hours. In addition, residents of Venda Nova region be aware of the risk of overflow on some streets.
At 10:40 p.m., Civil Defense issued an alert of risk of overflow in the streams of Avenida Abolio, Avenida C and Joaquim Pereira or Avenida Lieja. The corps ordered drivers to avoid some streets of the Jardim Comercirios neighborhood (see full list below).
The rain in Belo Horizonte started around 8 pm this Saturday. According to the latest Civil Defense survey, at 10:41 pm, the Northwest, Pampulha, North, Northeast and Venda Nova regions recorded the highest amount of rain, between 2.6 to 5 mm every five minutes. The only point in the mining capital that did not register rainfall, according to the agency, was Barreiro.
