In an interview with journalist Gerson Camarotti’s blog, the senator affirmed that the government will not exceed the spending ceiling to finance the new program. The Citizen Income will have at least R $ 25 billion more than Bolsa Família.
“The value (of the individual benefit) will be less. It will be between R $ 200 and R $ 300 in this first moment. For that, we had to find a new budget solution. But we are not going to pierce the ceiling. In that discussion, an extra roof solution was considered. However, it was not ideal and the economic team found a solution, ”said Bittar.
