Chadwick Boseman, who died on Friday (28), left productions unfinished, but there is at least one complete film starring him, about to be released.
Produced by Denzel Washington, “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom” is an adaptation of the 1982 play of the same name by playwright August Wilson.
The story takes place in Chicago in the 1920s, where four members of the band in a recording studio wait for blues singer Ma Rainey (Viola Davis) to record new music. These are two white producers also present.

Boseman plays one of the leads, Levee, a troubled young trumpeter who has ambitions to lead his own band.
The film adaptation was written by Ruben Santiago-Hudson and directed by George C. Wolfe. The film should be released in 2020.
Boseman also had a confirmed presence in the sequel to “Black Panther,” released in 2018. But according to the “Entertainment Weekly” website, filming had not yet begun, although the film already has a release date: May 6, 2022.
On social networks, there is already a fan campaign so that another actor is not chosen to play Boseman’s T’Challa.
Boseman has some scenes recorded playing T’Challa, not yet released. The “What If” series should hit the Disney + streaming service in 2021. The idea is that each episode will explore alternate stories in the Marvel universes, if something had happened differently.
Another role that Boseman had been confirmed for is in the action movie “Yasuke.” The warrior of the same name would live in the 16th century, the only known samurai of African origin.
Yasuke was from Mozambique and was brought to Japan as a slave to the Jesuit missionaries. The first black man to gain prominence in Japan piqued the interest of Nobunaga, a ruthless warrior. A complex relationship developed between the two men, and Yasuke gained friendship, respect, swords, and eventually the title of samurai.
Gregory Widen (from the “Highlander” franchise) and Doug Miro (“The Great Wall” and “Prince of Persia”) are responsible for this project. The film was announced in 2019 and there is no confirmed information about the filming location.
