In an interview with SBT this Wednesday (14), the federal deputy and candidate for the City of São Paulo Celso Russomanno (Republicans) minimized the period of the Military Dictatorship that prevailed in Brazil between 1964 and 1985.

Russomano was asked if he agrees with the statement of some public men who say that Brazil did not go through a dictatorship, like the President of the Republic, Jair Bolsonaro.
“I believe that the dictatorship is what we live in countries where you cannot enter or leave the country, where your passport is revoked. This is a dictatorship. We live in a military government, without a doubt ”, said the deputy.
Russomanno, who has increasingly aligned his speeches with Bolsonaro’s lines and practices, continues:
“Remember, in the 1960s, housewives took to the streets beating pots and pans asking the military to take over. This is not part of my life because I was a child at that time, but I am absolutely sure that democracy is built with the freedom we have today, “said the deputy.
ON THE STREET RESIDENTS DO NOT BATHE
Asked by journalists about the comment he made on Tuesday (13) about homeless people who, according to Russomanno, would have more resistance to covid-19 because they did not bathe, the candidate was excited and said that his speech was taken out of context and that in fact he only pointed out that neither the mayor’s office nor the state government provided the structure for them to bathe.
