Cearenses recorded the passage of a Chinese rocket over the state sky Monday night (23). In images obtained by Diário do Nordeste, it is possible to see, even from a distance, the spacecraft in motion.
OR The rocket was launched by China on Tuesday (local time) towards the lunar surface., with the goal of being the first nation to bring back lunar rocks and soil samples in more than four decades, according to The New York Times.
According to the American newspaper, the mission is the last stage of the space program that China hopes to culminate in an international lunar research station and, finally, a human colony on the Moon by 2030.
The astronomer Dennis Weaver explains that the bright “cloud” that appeared in the sky of Ceará “is the expulsion of fiery gases that give the rocket the thrust to leave the Earth on a mission to the Moon.” The passage of the rocket could also be seen in states such as Rio Grande do Norte and Bahia.
