It wasn’t the most popular transfer window, but still the last day of movement in the European player market has at least one impact change: Uruguayan striker Edinson Cavani, former Paris Saint-Germain, with Manchester United. The 33-year-old has spent the last few months speculating in Brazilian clubs, such as Grêmio and Atlético-MG, in Benfica, Portugal, and almost certainly given as reinforcement in Atlético de Madrid, before closing with the English club.

Like Cavani, other veterans also took advantage of the European summer to reinvent themselves in new airs, like his partner Luis Suarez, who left Barcelona for his rival Atlético de Madrid; the brazilian Douglas Costa, Loaned on the last window day by Juventus to Bayern Munich, where he already played; the Welsh Gareth Bale leave Real Madrid to return to Tottenham, his first club; and the captain of the Brazilian team Thiago silva, Cavani’s former colleague at PSG, reinforcing Chelsea’s defense.

In an atypical year, still marked by the Covid-19 pandemic, there was no transfer of those who shake the market: the most expensive contract was that of the German offensive midfielder Kai havertz, 21, who left Bayer Leverkusen for Chelsea for € 80 million, followed by the departure of the Brazilian midfielder Arthur from Barcelona to Juventus for 72 million, two negotiations concluded before the start of the season.
