In confirmed cases, since the start of the pandemic 6,052,143 Brazilians have had or have the new coronavirus, with 34,538 of those confirmed on the last day. A the moving average in the last 7 days was 29,149 new diagnoses per day, a + 76% change in relation to the cases registered in two weeks.

Progression until November 21

Nine states showed an increase in the moving average of deaths: RS, SC, ES, MG, RJ, SP, GO, AP, RR.

Starting this week It is necessary to remember the problem that occurred in the national system of death records and Covid-19 case of the Ministry of Health, which began on November 6. Several states reported difficulties accessing the e-SUS and published incomplete data or even remained without daily updates for a few days. This was the case of SP, the state most affected by the pandemic in absolute numbers, which did not register deaths for 5 days in a row.

In the coming days, this absence of updates and incomplete numbers will be reflected in the percentages indicative of uptrend, stability or decrease in deaths, in the affected states that week, and consequently also in the percentages of the national trend in deaths and new diagnoses.

It is also worth mentioning that there are states where low death rates can lead to large percentage variations. Moving average data is generally in decimal numbers and rounded to facilitate presentation of the data.

  • Up (9 states): RS, SC, ES, MG, RJ, SP, GO, AP, RR
  • In stability, that is, the number of deaths did not decrease or increase significantly (11 states + DF): PR, DF, MS, AM, PA, TO, BA, CE, PB, PE, PI, RN
  • Falling (5 states): MT, AC, RO, AL, SE
  • Did not report: MOM

This comparison takes into account the average of deaths in the last 7 days until the publication of this balance in comparison with the average registered two weeks ago (understand the criteria that G1 uses to analyze pandemic trends).
