Brazil has 179,063 confirmed coronavirus deaths as of 1 pm Thursday (10), according to a survey by the consortium of press vehicles based on data from state health departments.

Since the balance of 8 pm on Wednesday (9), five states have updated their data: GO, MS, PE, RN and TO.

On Wednesday (9), at 8:00 p.m., the balance indicated: 179,032 deaths from Covid-19 since the beginning of the pandemic, 848 in the last 24 hours. It was the highest number of deaths in 24 hours since November 12, when 926 were recorded on the same day. With that, the moving average of deaths in Brazil in the last 7 days was 643, highest recorded since October 6 – that day, the average was 652. The variation was + 34% compared to the 14-day average, indicating upward trend in deaths from the disease.

About the infected 6,730,118 Brazilians with the new coronavirus, 54,203 of those confirmed on the last day. The moving average of the last 7 days was 41,926 new diagnoses per day. This represents a variation of + 33% in relation to the cases registered in two weeks, which indicates upward trend also in diagnoses.

In Roraima, for example, the average was 1 and continued at 1 after 14 days, resulting in a 150% variation.. In Tocantins, the average was 1 and went to 3, with a variation of + 122%. In Rio Grande do Norte, which has the highest increase indicator among the states (+ 267%), the number went from 2 to 8. Data on coronavirus cases and deaths in Brazil were obtained after an unprecedented association between G1, O Globo, Extra, O Estado de S.Paulo, Folha de S.Paulo and UOL, which began to work, from June 8, in a collaborative way to collect the necessary information in the 26 states and the Federal District (know plus).
