The governor of Ceara, Camilo Santana (PT), announced on Friday the 13th, that the current State decree will be extended from next Monday 16 and will be discarded a new lock after the end of the first round of the 2020 Elections.

The announcement was made after the governor’s meeting with State committee to face the coronavirus pandemic, made up of 25 state and federal entities and agencies to evaluate the Covid-19 framework in Ceará. According to Camilo’s publication, the measure to implement a new confinement “was not even evaluated by the committee.” See the full text:

In a meeting this Friday (13), the Committee that deliberates on the Decree of social isolation evaluated all the indicators and reports on Covid in Ceará developed by our Health professionals and defined by the extension, without changes, of the current decree of the next Monday (16). This decision even put an end to a widely publicized fake news story that there would be a shutdown as of 11/16, right after the end of the election. That’s a lie. At this time, more than 95% of the Ceará economy has resumed its activities and continues to grow. The frivolity of some people trying to spread panic among the population is impressive. We have always warned that the pandemic continues, the virus continues to circulate, but this extreme measure has not even been evaluated by the committee, which involves, in addition to the Government, the Justice, State and Federal Prosecutors, in addition to the AL and Pref of Strength. It is, therefore, another Fake News spread in the middle of the pandemic.
